The Future

Oh to hold this newborn babe,

To understand how the future feels,

Within one's arms so softly swaddled,

So new and soft, overflowing with potential.

The promises of this child lie endless,

For goodness, and kindness and wisdom,

But also, be aware that there are also possibilities,

For trouble, and pain, confusion and defeat.

So handle the future you hold with care,

Give to it all of you, you can give,

Lend him your hand, give guidance and trust,

For in your arms, you truly hold the future.

Very wise and beautiful write all at the same time. They are the future and we write on a blank slate on who they are. Hopefully parents will write with the wisdom you express in this write Karen. Love, Bonnie
