Semper contra mundum...simply always

Opalescent personality cannot change!
The tide is fortitude and it perseveres inside
the rigidity of all things strong and strange,
as it bellows forthwith both far and wide.
Yet elements cannot shift this warrior
for no matter the cut it will not bleed,
so does this strength give sustenance or succour?

Yielding not to a weak selfish need,
battle may be fleeting or deviously frequent.
I doubt the sturdy mettle of history can be matched
..tell me is what you see what you think is sent?
..or has dubious obsequiousness been hatched?
Impossible though it is to dwell on selfish thought,
time incredulously sways the pendulum's behaviour.
Knowing you see what you think you ought,
again I ask..do you choose sustenenance or succour?

How do we know and guage all we see
for its truth, honesty and validity,
with past, present, future existing constantly
...certain is the path of conviction in individuality.
Ah! Vaulting chasms of deep responsibility
that will never fall nor waiver,
passing over the pitfalls of deceit and gullibility...
..but look now through the purest blue...

..make your choice for this sustenance or that succour?

I agree with APax here...this does indeed have a strong Shakespearean flavor but one spiced with contemporary experience. Splendid work my friend.

Decisions. . .decisions. . .
Are you sure you know what you ask?
The sail lays limp on the mask
Till the wind blows in
Then true sailing begins again.
A top knotch poem - five star
Worth the wait and glad to see you back.

Amazing write to come back to the den with, as you let the reader dwell on the questions you seem to ponder with them. Their is a fine line between the too as any parent can attest too. As well life runs through this poem or perhaps the poem runs through life but either way it is smashing for sure.

A profoundly important question that only the individual can effectively answer. Sometimes decision making requires an inordinate amount of faith, and not just intellect. Your write is an excellent introspective look at the seriousness of making the correct decision.

Welcome back dear Panda!
