Poetry by Liana Margiva

As shooting star descended you from heaven
Sent by the Lord just like the one before

To shine upon the Earth’s sinful soil.

Your gift divine, endowment of God

To you was given for eternity

And not to be surpassed by any mortal.

You conquered all the countries of the Earth,

You left behind all rivals in despair,

You gave your soul to people with the hope

That it will not be sacrificed to Devil.

Alas, your robeless soul became a target

Of many poisonous arrows.

The more it bled, the more bloodthirsty beasts

Would bury their fangs into its flesh.

For many moons your foes would toil
In shadow of your gift to dig enough dirt

To smear your good name.

But filth don’t cling to stars:

They are destined to shine

In heavens’ bright abode.

Had you observed the people of the Earth
To mourn your sad demise like one of their own,

Your soul would shed all sadness of this world!

Descended like a star from heaven,

To heaven you ascended as a star

To shine forever on this cruel Earth.

From this day on you’ll dwell in place
Without grief and agony of life.

Let broken hearts you left behind on Earth

Your soul will fill with peace for ever more.

No farewell we bid for it means to be apart.
Forever we keep the loved ones in our heart

And mourn them, and keep the love alive.

But God’s love was no less than our love,

So one day there came a call from above,

And one more angel graced the paradise

With voice that most mortals recognize.

The voice that fills the soul with delight

And chases off the monsters of the night.

Now we know how the soul is dancing

When  she  isn’t  weeping...

We search for angels in the skies above
To give them our never-ending love

But angels roam the Earth among the men,

And then ascend to heavens once again.

And we seek their help in our prayers…

Oh, dear Angel with your wounded soul,
You, who was worshiped by the old and young,

How fare you away from Earth beloved?

And have you found the peace

You’ve been deprived off?

What’s peace when the soul isn’t  weeping

In pain, or doesn’t it ever happen?

We won’t deprive you of our caring love,
We’ll send it up to rainbow high above.

So that it brightly shined eternally

And kept your soul wrapped in eternal glee.

Dear Liana,
Although I was not a fan of Michael Jackson, I commend you for this poem. What impacts me is the passion and compassion with which you have written it. You are a person who looks beneath the surface of a man and feels the suffering inside. God bless you, dear lady.

Your words reach beyond expressing admiration for a "celebrity" to paint a true portrait of someone who tried very hard to render valuable spiritual service to his fellow human beings. Much gratitude to the original poet and the translator for this beautiful shared inspiration.

Not one of the crowd, I read this tribute/poem with the clinical eye of a old man that never understood the youngsters music (maybe because I was born already old. LOL)
But your words are displaying the poet that runs in your veins.
Très magnifique!

A wonderful tribute for an unforgettable star. I guess I am one of few who never felt he was guilty like the rumors said. He just never grew up. Loved his music. This poem is telling of the kind soul behind the words. Hugs,
