(after the lovin'....)

I sit, running a comb through my hair,
a little cat-smile brushing my lips
with wonder
as my secrets run through me,
playing sweet counterpoint to
the singing of my blood.

A door opened and my soul stepped
through to meet its champion.
Blinded by the beauty of the truth,
I cried out for salvation,
and was answered by a touch.

Whirling in the maelstrom of sensation,
I clung to my anchor
and was buoyed up...
sheltered from the chaos,
I melted into madness

and was reborn to peace.
