people are so funny, especially when they do not try to be

People on a Train

People on a train with lives to lead
Some tell us it all, for that there’s no need
Some must be happy, some will be sad
Some must be good, some will be bad

People on a train going to work
Don’t talk on the journey, company they shirk
Bury their head in the Metro to hide
Pregnant woman stands, they sit with pride?

People on a train out for the day
Getting by in their own special way
Seeing no one but watching them all
What would they do if one was to fall

People on a train it’s delayed again
Some start to talk of times way back when
BR was better I hear someone say
Privatisation we all have to pay

People on a train isn’t it hot
Air conditioned of course it is not
Travel this way nobody can like
Maybe we all should travel by bike
