The atmosphere is warm and comforting and the food is down-home good cooking--at the WhatNot Shoppe Cafe!

At The WhatNot Shoppe Café

You’ll find The WhatNot Shoppe Café
tucked in a cozy nook,
where all who enter taste tantalizing flavor.

There’s comfort in the warm décor, appealing books,
and scrumptious food, prepared with loving favor.

There are sights adorning cheery walls and bookshelf,
with funny or inspiring mottos to behold.

While dining, you’ll be reading from the walls yourself,
and stealing curious peeks at knick-knacks to be sold.

If you catch a glimpse of Cindy in her kitchen,
you may see her sifting or stirring with a smile.

While her cooking starts your taste buds reminiscing,
she’s dreaming up yummy new dishes all the while.

You might spot a quiet man – that’s Tom – hard at work,
doing just about anything that needs his hands.

You’ll notice he’s not the kind of guy who will shirk –
He’ll do whatever task this little shoppe demands.

The six kids pitch in, too, filling in here and there;
it takes the whole family to make a dream come true .

WhatNot?  Why not?   Because they have love to share,
this quaint and friendly shop is here to welcome you!

"appealing books,

"Because they have love to share,"
Hard to find these things anymore connie. It's always a blessing, though, when one does stumble into such a place. I do love the sense of community you've presented in this delightful poem and yearn for the days when there was more of it in America. Peace and continued inspiration ... richard

A wonderful a commercial for a little bit of Americana. It is sad to see mom and pop restaurants give way to same old, same old, chains around America.

Great little poem that paints a portrait.

I had to read this because of the title. These lyrics are clever storytelling poetry style, and I like knowing there is such a place. Good verse, Connie. ~~ Diana
