A memorial to one of the great gifted ones.

Beneath the ancient
Flowering apple—
Drifting blossom, slightest breeze—
The Maestro sits, his
Keyboard at hand.

This is Her garden
And he is here to delight
The assembled Muses,
His life offered to
One who brings
Her worshippers ecstasies of invention
And agonies of despair.
Beauty wrung from
Hearts by Her twin gifts:
Torture & Bliss.

Another prize for her
Court of poets, musicians, dancers,
Those Children of Art--
Our life and death’s Beloved--
Her arms close as cradle,
He sleeps in Light,
Blossom covered,
Beneath the immortal tree.
