The Wound...

This Poem is from my Book: My Secret Heart...
There are times in Love, when Love itself leaves a scar that only time and God can heal. This was one of those times in my life...

The wound was deep and painful

Much more than I would have believed,

Especially when it came from a Loved One

Pulled from her silken sleeve,

The gash bled uncontrollably

Profusely from the start,

How difficult to stem the flow

From a deep and wounded heart,

I trusted you with my affection

My passion and my soul,

The secret parts, of my heart

More treasured by me than gold,

But apparently I was in error

For what I firmly held and did believe,

Because now I feel violated

Broken and deceived,

Deceived to think you loved me

As much as I did you,

Deceived to think you'd live up to

All you said you'd do,

Deceived to think that ever

Life held joy again,

Deceived to think you'd love me

And be, a Forever Friend...

Another very well written, seasoned sentiment we can all relate with and relive through your words. You are a wonderful poet. Don't stop utilizing your talent. It works well therapeutically also for all of us.
