Crimson Sky
A vision fell upon me
Fairest and lovely
My heart became ablaze
Igniting the skyline in an amber haze.
His vision was I could see
Strong and free
My soul called out his name
All but the birds and trees to blame.
I had been adrift at sea
The waves had taken its toll on me
My course a maze
Inviting a stupor and a daze.
We drifted as one though apart
The storms hit so hard upon my heart
Without a single compass to guide
But the safety of you still closes beside.
Knowing of the coming sorrow
Crimson sky tomorrow
A few touching moments may I borrow
A time to dance - a kiss perchance.
Crimson sky tonight
Don’t look ahead – just hold me tight
Relax within our sweet kisses
A time to rest – we are so blessed.
If I don’t ever get the chance
If time become unkind
If I never get to say
Remember me this way
Those three words I say all the time
May they forever be etched in your mind.
I will always have a chance
If only to the stars in skies at night
To be able to say
Remember me this way
The summer seas that glowed so bright
The wave’s embrace that felt so right.
Though beneath it we fell together
We withstood all kinds of weather.
