*************************************

The woman in the Garden was set up cunningly

Appealing to her appetite deliciously

Who questioned deliberately

Who filled mankind with lies and hate

Led her through death’s dark and silent gate.

The man in the Garden knew it instantly

Appealing to his lust fictionally

Protesting, who answered selfishly

Who filled mankind with lies and hate

Led him through death’s dark and silent gate.

That’s why he’s known as the father of lies.

He’s why we all must die

Who got the ground cursed

Made our lives worse

Throughout the universe

Only sorrow for all our tomorrows

Dust we are to burn

Into dust we return.

 *****************************

I stand watching it swing open.

It gets wider everyday

Heard all the fables and lies

Only one way out

A bruised heel

Shed blood

Nailed to a tree

Purposely

Why has living slay’d me?

It gets closer everyday

Tired of all the fables and lies

I was born to die

I don’t know why

Try as I may

It’s gonna happen someday

Doesn’t matter if you believe what I say.

 ****************************

All I can do

Is take one day at a time

Nothing can I take that is mine

Naked I came into this world

Naked I will leave

Yet this one thing I do believe

Only love can come with me

Or hate – what I take -  in time we’ll see

Death’s dark and silent Gate.

Wow, Doug, I love your intensity in this one, especially, too, how it wraps itself back around at the end. One of your best, my friend~ Love, Michelle

So extremely written with thoughts of death and what it is like. We all need to thik about our future, are we saved or are we going to the devil.
