The Greatest Love of All
The detective started drawing the outline where I laid
An ambulance had been called and was on the way
My heartbeat was racing
The coroner pacing
I knew I would die someday
But everyone that walked by and stared
Had the expression on their face it would be today.
NOT if I was to have my way.
The medics picked up my body where I laid
The hospital was called and told I was on the way
My heartbeat was fading
The Am. driver racing
I knew I might die today
But everyone that hovered over me and cared
Had the expression on their face it would NOT be today
Reassuring me to the ER all the way.
But it then dawned on me
Who in the end has the final say
At that moment I no longer heard anyone that was talking
BUT hearing all the praying and supplication
Directed up in the air
I could see them floating into the Throne Room
And into my Savior’s ears
Looking for the expression He would have on His face
Would He leave me here or call me to His place?
It started raining and began washed the outline away
I knew then I had more time to stay
To be with my wife and all my friends that prayed
NOW that to me was Valentine’s Day!
That words can not say.
