Poets

Some may say

They – are . . . . . . . .

What are they?

Clairvoyant.

Seekers of the unspoken

Just trying to unshackle

Un-muzzle

Just speak and puzzle.

Give there own opinion

Peel off each layer of the crystal onion

Write too much

Speak too little

Too hard to penetrate

Too easy for goodness sakes

Imitate

Create.

Some may say . . . . .

I do what it takes

Too easy to dissimulate

Tries too hard to impact the world

Just trying to impress ONE little blue eyed girl.

Some may say

It takes too much of my day away

Can’t digest

Lead me on a quest

Stops too short

Don’t know where to end

Jump to the last page

Get me to where you send

When all you make

Will be given to your next-of-kin.

Facets of poem writing, and this poem shows them in a dynamic way, which I like. Poetry is multifaceted and always has something new to offer us at the right time.

A diverse, dissimulative and sometimes detached lot... Poets are odd creatures.

People will always have their opinion, yet we must write for ourselves first. Good poem.

I agree, Doug, it is easy to hide ones feelings from others. And, considering the great gap that divides people on the internet, where everything shared is two-dimensional, I believe that it's wise to remain (in certain instances) detached. Now ... the idea that financial success burgeons after an artist has passed is not entirely inclusive, (IMO) although there are many examples that can be cited to support the notion. As I said before, I believe your insights are beginning to sprout in unique ways. Keep up the honest moving work. Peace and continued inspiration ... richard

...it is good to paint forward, sometimes we never know to whom or when, but words drawn is an art perceived differently by each viewer, that is the beauty Doug~
