Still on this Side

Life’s too short

Can be cut off any time

When my Master calls

This ol’ body’s gonna fall

Ain’t no coffin gonna hold me in

There will be the biggest break out ever seen

Molecules and particles coming from every where

Arms and legs, toes and fingers, even hair

New hearts

Better incorruptible parts

I have to keep reminding myself

I have not crossed over there yet

Though the pain

There is joy to be gained

It’s like I can’t give up

Forget the cup

My saucer overflows more and more

What can I share as I get older and older?

My health ain’t gonna get any better

Each day grows worse

Like I’ve been cursed

But I can see outside this universe

I have to keep reminding myself

I have not crossed over yet

Though the pain

There is joy to gain.

Givin’ one more day

Still time to say

“Master which way”

Cut these chains

Throw them away

I‘ll be back seven years to the day.

Douglas,
I can feel my body wearing down more and more every day. I too, look forward to never feeling any pain or shed any tears. I feel that day is coming soon.

Many blessings,

“Through the pain.” I can identify with that line. It seems each year brings new challenges. I see and hear it all the time on AD as writers share their pain, and then fade, and eventually disappear. Such is life, and you have summed it up in a nutshell.

An invigorating affirmation of Christian faith here, Doug. You cover much. The second law of thermodynamics, our impermanence in these bodies, life as a series of loses, the instantaneous regathering of our individual software by the One who created and programmed it, new bodies, a translation to a higher place, dwelling in the presence of the Most High, coming back to rule and reign with the risen Christ ... your faith tickles me. There is much we agree on. The time is nigh! Stand Strong! Enjoyed this! richard
