Oasis

Lying under the desert sun

Surrounded by miles of barren sand

Here is where my journey ended

Here is where I alone could no longer stand

Wind blowing gritty waves

Coating my parched skin

Every cell in my body was screaming for love

Fading, my hope caving in

Here you came and held out your hand

Lifting me from my bleached grave

Your love a life preserving oasis

From this desperate land

Your sustaining arms

Heartened my soul

I drank from your lips

The nourishing waters

Of enchantment

Quickly returning me to life

Quickly reigniting my craving wish

Hungry to please your heart's desire

Hungry with my ardent eagerness

I find an oasis powerfully symbolic and you prove that once again via your verses, Elizabeth. Thank you for sharing this offering. Love and peace to you,

"hope caving in" is certainly a place that every human being visits more than once in their lives.

I enjoyed the heartcry in this piece to be loved and reanimated from the desert and lethargies of aloneness. A strong statement indeed!
