Maybe sometimes it appears that there is no pause for anything... but to those who witness a birth, life pauses for a moment while we gaze at that little piece of heaven. Likewise...when a loved one dies...maybe the world doesn't pause, but I know that my heart skips a beat now and then as I pause...and remember...them.

| Very good perspective, Liz. I had the same thing pointed out to me this week at the funeral service of my step-mother, that with her 18th, 19th and 20th great grandchildren born this month, it might have seemed like time for her generation to flow on out of the world.....Jerry |

Liz,
It's sad to think of life going on without us, but it's true. The next generation takes over. In fact, I've noticed many elderly folk allow the younger generation full reign while they're still alive. A poem that makes me think. Love and Hugs,

Yes but the power to stop and smell the roses can slow down that steamroller we know as life if we take the option to try.

Elizabeth,
In eight great lines you speak hundreds, certainly more than 'just some thoughts'. I enjoy the depth here.

| Great poem, Elizabeth. We'd love for time to pause, wouldn't we, but as you've said, it doesn't. |
