I fell in love with a brown eyed girl Whose lips were ruby red.

The prettiest girl in the whole wide world, So everybody said.

I fell in love with brainy lass As smart as she could be.

Number one in her college class, And she outsmarted me.

I fell in love with a sporting guy The captain of his team.

A macho man with a twinkling eye A dreamer of big dreams.

I fell in love with a gentle man As tender as a man can be.
