They say that the eyes are the windows of the soul. Who knows what really hides behind someone's eyes. In my poem, a person shares what they actually see through their own eyes, an actual window & what they see within their own mind, behind the panes of their eyes. The pain of a heart breaking, the pain of love lost. |

I gaze at the sun's reflection mirrored upon metal and chrome Through double panes of glass I watch as slivers of light dance and roam.
Across my line of vision birds occassionally do fly Through double panes of glass I watch lost in dreams as life goes by.
Images pass before my eyes unseen by all but me Through double panes of glass I watch scenes from a love that use to be.
Diamonds glitter upon the glass tears of loss and pain Through the double panes of my eyes I watch a heart that weeps in vain.

A fine skillful poem that speaks fluidly of the subjectivity of what we see, and how we interpret what we see.

| Bonnie, that was beautiful. Your poetry is full of emotions. I would not have explained much bforehand. The test of a poem is to see if a reader understood it. You are very lucid and understood perfectly. Excellent poem and one of the best I've read today. I look forwards to reading you again and invite you to my poor den for you are a better poet. Victor |

"Double Panes"
Twice the shattering?
Twice the pain?
Twice the strength?
The reader is left to contain.
Which one will remain?
Or will they reframe?
Or find great gains?
Honestly written
Beautifully worded
Great title.
