To those who believe we need not die because we are sick and uninsured.

America will never be the same
the mold has been broken.
The spirits of many, who held the scornful
reign for so many years  are dead.

The broken mold of ages of bigotry
and greed have made changes
to our creed.  We can not and will not
reverse.  Not now, no, not now.

To the ones who have prayed and gone;
 who worked hard for what we lived
through tonight, you smiled, God smiled.
The Lord is our light and our salvation.

We have no fear:  This is a glorious year
...A New time in America.  No, not Sojourner
Truth nor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,
but President Barack H.
 Obama.

God bless America.

Hopefully changes for the better will come in time, Louisa. I pray the world moves forward...it's time to change the legacy we will leave behind if we continue to embrace hate and bigotry. Very powerful write. I enjoyed reading it.
