Where did all the Dolphins go?

10 beautiful dolphins
swimming very fine
didn't see the fishing line
now there's only....nine!

9 little dolphins
trying to find a mate
didn't see the divers
now there's only... eight!

8 nice dolphins
being fed by kevan
he gave one some poison
now there's!

7 graceful dolphins
performing funny tricks
someone threw a brick
now there's only.....six!

6 spotted dolphins
happy to be alive
one swallowed chemicals
now there's only....five!

5 bottlenose dolphins
which humans adore
one didn't see a net
now there's only.....four!

4 Risso dolphins
hiding under the coral tree
swam into an oil spill
now there's only.....three!

3 Sad dolphins
not knowing what do do
one swam into a plastic bag
now there's only.....two!

2 lovely dolphins
having lots of fun
one was shot by a gun
now there's only....One!

1 lonely dolphin
was a lone hero
fretted himself to death
now......There's Zero!

I love dolphins but that is just sad what happened to them all.
Sadly that happens to them (well maybe not all of them) It happens and it's sad that no one cars.

A sad but real account of what is happening globally to this planet. A most important and timely write, Evie. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Stunned. Amazing, unique poetry, telling a powerful message in such an amazing way. A lot of thought and work has gone in to this.
Worth sending it out to a magazine..

The one good thing about this generation, is they teach these environmental issues in schools mandatory. The amount of work they bring home is fantastic, and while Evie writes about these things, her younger sibs, well they likes to draw them...and I get a buzz out of encouraging these talents...I've got a fridge covered in pics, running outa door space LOL.

A very sad, true to life poem. Keep writing about the plight of earth's animals, Evie - your generation is their only hope for continued survival. Far too many adults no longer care.

Great pen on the plight of a lot of marine animals.

I love the picture. Very good write. Not only the dolphins but many mammals and animals have been put on the endangered list by the insecurities and cruelties of man. Perhaps they'll come a day when the world will learn to appreciate all the blessings that they've been given and treat those blessings with respect. Keep writing and always remember that your talent is a blessing from God.

Very well done and a good lesson on how quickly we can lose the beauty of this world and it's inhabitants that surround us. You captured your subject well here Evie and I know you put a lot of heart and soul into this one.

A sad world we live in today. It appears there is no one left to care what is happening. Why? When will the people of the world begin caring again? A very good heartfelt piece.......
