Great Lakes

Today is warm muggy

 with low hanging clouds

and a hint of storms.

The foghorn mourns

the lighthouse warns

all who venture out on the freshwater seas

where many shipwrecks lie

on lakes’ bottom some buried in sand

and bones of those swept away

by currents, sailors, surfers and hapless

swimmers ripped far out from shore.

The waters shrug and wink a steely eye.

I could see the waters and hear the lonely cry of the fog horn off in the distance. Just love the water, always found it so mysterious, beautiful write.

Be safe,
