Seekers and Cynics
I once heard a rumor, that loves exists.
Though not once have I seen prove of it.
Can a man love a woman?
Can a man love a man?
Or just himself?
Seeing happy, laughing couples in the street,
I scorn the illusion that seduced the weak
After all - the minds plays powerful tricks
On those who’ll trust in it.
I mock the hearts of lovers,
For they’re living childhood dreams!
My truth has now been stated
But maybe that’s just what it seems -
To a cynic?
Perhaps the whole world is full of people,
Living a gift neither granted nor denied,
Only found, when believed in,
And that only seekers find?
