The futility of war and the young men we lose.

Baby Soldiers by Rob Smith
16/7/2006

Why oh why, do you want me to die
We bleed the same colour red
Don't you think in this day and age
Enough of our blood has been shed

We are brothers of men who don't know when
Our time to die will arrive
While men 'round the table, yell kill if you're able
But try keeping yourself alive

I see it all as the brothers fall
While those men 'round the table still yell
They don't hear the boom from their safe solid room
While we crawl through this bloodied hell

With "Send me some more, We're losing the shore"
And "Send me some men without fear"
They drag boys out of bed for the men are all dead
And wave them away with a tear

Remind me again for I know not when
This method has seen success
You line up these boys but their gun's are not toys
And get nothing but sadness and death.
