Sometimes we only seem to walk in the shade
Days and weeks passing by like clouds in the sky
Longing for the sunshine which never arrives
Hoping for a smile or happiness for a while
But still the darkness descends without permission
Allowing us to forget and only live with regret
For the times we missed our chance of happiness
That is the time I’m there to show you I do care
You may not know I am walking by your side
Or feel my touch when I say “I love you so much”
You may not realise that it was me who helped
When you felt so low and didn’t know where to go
Nor realised I put out my hand when you stumbled
Although you can’t see me I am always there with thee
In your memories, your thoughts and your smiles
Watching over your sleep and drying the tears you weep
And trying so hard to answer when you question “Why?”

Beautifully written! We tend to forget the God may not be seen, but in every out come in life, it was He who led us through. Nicely done!
