Swathed in hospital white I know you wonder
where did your warm wet cradle go.
My feelings are mixed as I watch you
in the bright warming light
looking through navy blue eyes
at the people and room around you.
I know you can't really see yet
but you're looking around nevertheless.
Curiosity, your first visible trait.
My heart is filled with so much love
but I fear for you, for it is not
a nice world you've come into.
Acuity washes over me
for there's something different
about you my dear one.
Perhaps infant child of my child
you will be one who makes a difference.
I say a prayer that I'll still be around to see it,
suddenly I want to live forever.

May God protect you from the lions too Daniel.

Good prayer, Marcia :-)

"Perhaps infant child of my child
you will be one who makes a difference.
I say a prayer that I'll still be around to see it,
suddenly I want to live forever"

I can certainly identify with this quoted wish.

Daniel will be all that you want and more ... for he fears neither the lions nor darkness. He is blessed among many, as was my Daniel.

God bless you. Kathy
