How do you like the music
Our kids are into today?
Doesn't it just shake you up,
When their bands begin to play?
The music is so LOUD,
Your ears begin to ache.
One thing is for sure,
It keeps you wide awake.
Along with each generation,
Comes a flowing trend,
That's popular for just so long,
Then the trend will end.
When something's really good,
We know it's here to stay,
Our waltzes and old standards
Will never fade away.
Singers like Crosby and Sinatra,
Didn't make it over night,
Buy they'll never be forgotten
They won't fade out of sight.
When our kids have kids,
What will their styles be?
No one knows, of that we're sure,
So we'll have to wait and see.
Nothing in this world
Is entirely without merit.
So let's not be too hard on our kids,
But simply grin and bear it.

| :) I've been listening to "American Pie" lately, in my CD player (yipes, I remeber 8-tracks!) in my vehicle, I knew/know all the lyrics to this American-icon of the death of the age of Innocence... And now, my children are learning them, too! Soon, Del, my oldest is 12, I will be here, in your delighful piece... Scary, that! :) |
