Cell Phone Nuisances
I moved along quickly with my shopping cart
Planning to do my shopping and leave
The first aisle that I pushed my cart down
Tested my patience with a disgruntled peeve.
Two stand-still women hogged the aisle
Each talking, chatting and chattering on a cell phone
Neither heard me say, “Excuse me, please”,
I turned back the way I came, choking back an expletive groan.
To get to the other end of that same aisle
I had to go down a different aisle and return
Then lo and behold there stood the two talkers
Moving just enough to block my way again. “Durn!”
I left my cart parked at the end of the aisle
And walked between the two gals talking at the mart
I gathered everything I needed in my arms
And stomped back irritably to my cart.
I pushed my cart to the next aisle
And saw another cell phone talker there
Taking up the aisle with her cart and big butt
I didn’t even try to pass by her.
Do they come to the grocery store
To shop or simply to talk?
They need to learn some manners
And move to one side when they talk and walk.
