Nature Walks
I love to go outdoors on nature walks
Along the wooded trails twisting through the trees
To observe the beauty of greenery everywhere
And inhale deeply of the fresh mountain breeze.
I like to see the population of different trees
Accompanied by shrubs, brush and plants growing wild
Brimming with life, grace and beauty, like all nature
Kissing the world with an eternal smile
And there in the deep forest all around, I hear
The sounds of wildlife cavorting wild and free
Talking in animal talk to their mates and young
Perhaps discussing a venture or preparing a jubilee
My feet crunch in the fallen leaves along the trail
And I glance down at all the shapes, colors and sizes
Quickly becoming fascinated with the glory of nature
And God’s own purpose behind these beautiful surprises.
As I continue my pace I see the walking trail is bordered
By growing trees, some young, some old of a different size
Leaving sparse openings with a window view
To a mountain skyline backlit by the sun beginning to rise.
Yes, I do love to go on long nature walks
And watch green life growing and unfolding all around
Where animals, insects, trees and forest converge as one
Claiming the forest as their private camping ground.
While I am just a visitor and must respect their space.
