Of all the roses, candy, perfume and other trinkets I have been given for Valentine's Day..the Valentine described within this write will forever be the most memorable Valentine ever!

 A Handmade Treasure

Valentine’s Day came as many before…

My husband working third shift,

Seven days a week…

The romantic holiday arrived on Sunday,

With Dennis working the night before…

Stopping to buy me chocolate,

A valentine…a token of love…as usual…

Only…to his surprise…

Closed the sign hung boldly in the window of the store!

I was not forgotten,

For I received a special Valentine that day…

One like no other…

Tears filled my eyes as I held this precious gift,

Created from writing paper, crayons,

and discarded valentines from our children’s forgotten menagerie…

One of pink, one red, the other soft and yellow.

Cut and pasted were the hearts of three,

The inscription lovingly written with a crayon of red,

This is what it said…

To my darling wife,

I didn’t get to buy you a gift,

But I hope you will accept my love,

And this handmade card from my heart instead…

I love you more today than yesterday,

You are my everything.

You are my life!

This handmade treasure now yellowed with time,

I keep safely tucked away in my family bible,

Both close to my heart

And from neither will I ever depart…

Cards written from the heart tell more of a personal note than one that is already written, I think. My husband has wrote me several cards, valentines day, anniversary, even birthday. The ones for no reason were the most special. he didn't try to ryme, or make it any certain way, he just pours his heart and soul into it and I love and appreciate that he can do that! It is a gift! beautiful poem Joyce, you should take it to the drugstore and have it laminated. I have 4 laminated and they have a special place in my bedroom. Truly touchs me, and I can see it does you too!

Be thankful for your husband, as I am sure he is for you!

Blessings,

Hi Joyce,
Such tender and basal connection between you and your beloved........moving and rich. I miss that safe monogamy so......Drank it all away about 6 years ago. As always, God took a negative and made it good. Today I counsel others who still suffer. Thank you so much for your words of peace and hope.

Peace,

Bill

That is the most romantic thing a man could do for his beloved--a hand-made card with words from the heart. That's better than flowers or even chocolates. You can keep that card forever...and look at it whenever. Wow! I really like that, Joyce. You tell Dennis that in my book, he is one terrific guy. Yes siree!

God Bless
