Love this Joyce... You sound so like me... you can turn all these thoughts round in your brain in the twinkling of an eye, like a kid's flip book where all the "still" pictures run along with movement as you flick the pages. And, dear me... where do all those years go??? Scary, yet warm and lingering with the permanence and enduring qualities of it all. Very well sketched for us, too. TY Kate xx

Joyce, what a beautiful reminder to all of us...that within old houses, barns, cedar chests, etc., are treasures that can speak if we take the time to search for them. I loved the mystic of this piece and also the voice I heard when I read it. Thanks for such a wonderful read.

This one had me anxious to read the next line! I love estate sales. Sales of any kind, really! I was really caught up in this poem until the last verse kinda stumpted me! Went from 1897 to 2007~ over a hundred year time period. Caught myself thinking! Beautiful writing, as usual Joyce. You never seize to amaze me!

Joyce, "Dear Diary" may be "just a fun write", but it is beautiful and so well written that it is entirely believable. One can just imagine that woman from decades ago. One can also imagine you going into an ancient old mansion browsing through the books with zeal and a hunger. I love your poems---especially the ones like this that tell a story.
