The Ultimate Test...

As I drove down the road this morning taking my son in-law to meet his morning car pool this poem formed within my mind...just a few thoughts from this mountain girl!

 The Ultimate Test…

 While traveling on this road
known as the highway of life
days are often made up of joy
others filled with trouble and strife!

For we must pick and choose our battles
knowing which we can win
casting the others away from our thoughts
picking up the pieces and starting over again.

Never looking back, having no regrets
living one day at a time
preparing for what might be ahead
as life has a way of changing, even on a dime!

But if we persevere with belief in our self
and faith in God, giving our very best
we shall overcome and the winner we will be
the winner of this race called life, passing the ultimate test!

...wonderful words of wisdom you have written Joyce...say much about faith and the inspiration to continue...on that highway...both hands on the wheel...though curves unknowingly surface around each bend...continuing...even when there may be fear of falling rocks.

We were never promised an "easy" life, and when we face that reality we become stronger. This is what Christ revealed to his deciples, and to us. Your faithful, inspiring words are proof of this revelation, Joyce:
"For we must pick and choose our battles
knowing which we can win
casting the others away from our thoughts
picking up the pieces and starting over again."

Wisdom in those words, friend!!
Blessings and Love ~~ Micke

Joyce, you words ring with truth and honesty...we must persevere and believe in ourselves, having faith in God and give our life all we have and we will succeed. Many times in this life we could just give in to our trial & tribulations but through our faith in God, we will survive regardless of the obstacles we face. An excellent write!

... and just how testing that Test can be, Joyce. Sometimes it seems as if we've just dropped into an on-going nightmare that has blown up from nowhere, for no apparent reason and with no end in sight... but your words of wisdom here teach us to seek the balance one day at a time and to always approach each situation (even if a repeat!) as a fresh event. It pays to perhaps walk around the broken glass, rather than over it. Of course, clearing it up is even better... and not allowing the glass to become broken better still! But such is life. Thank you for sharing. Kate xx
