I love to browse the many shelves in the antique shops, flea markets, and second hand stores...as their shelves are filled with memories from the past while new ones await...

I removed this poem to revise and use in an upcoming book...sorry for the inconvenience...and thank you for visiting my den.

Many feel as you when they visit these antique shops and buy something that intrigues them to keep it alive for future generations to marvel at and here the whispers of those who once owned it.

A cradle...connecting the past and the present...
That is what I love about antiques/heirlooms...they can still be used and loved and yet...they connect us with our roots.

Joyce, it's always a pleasure to read your poetry. The things you write about revive memories for us all. Yet, I have to admit your poem gives new meaning and interest to flea markets. You make them sound like a wonderful treasure hunt. An excellet write!
