Fishing

Fishing is my favorite past time. Whether I catch or not.

I bought some worms, a few hooks & a pole
I'm heading out to the ol' fishing hole.

It's cool outside with a warm gentle breeze
When you try to catch fish, there's no guarantees.

You could fish all day & fill a whole string
Or try all day & not catch a thing.

The smell of the water, the hooking the bait
To catch the big one, you must concentrate.

After casting your line & waiting a lot
You think the fish know how not to get caught

Something starts tugging & pulling my line
It feels like 8 pounds or could it be nine?

The lines getting tighter~Oh yes in deed
It finally comes up~but it's only a WEED!

I really like your piece of poetry about fishing as it's fun to get out in nature and explore new things.
Thanks for sharing.
