I packed my things and said good-bye
Not much in common, he and I.
I wanted change, so I moved away
I thought we both would be okay.
The hardest thing I've ever done
Was leaving him to have no one.
Now we're several states apart
I know I love him with all my heart.
The kids miss him so very much
Dog piles, wrestling, hugs and such.
He likes hearing about their day
They give him details play by play.
We're making plans to reunite
Being apart just isn't right.
He's planning to join us in late June
The kids are excited; they know it's soon.
Together again, we can't wait to be
Me with him and him with me!
