My little boy turned 16 - a poem to let him know I love him!!!

I looked into your big blue eyes

They took me with such surprise

I loved you without restraint

You’re my boy, always a saint

Your smiles and laughter

Bring me joy forever after

You’re the greatest boy I know

Nothing to prove, nothing to show

From bubble boy in the bath

To tenth grade and serious math

Everything about you is divine

I’m so happy that your mine

This poem may be sappy

But keep in mind, I’m your daddy

I will always love you as my little boy

All of the years – all of the joy

Raising you has been a dream

Suddenly there you are at sixteen

You make me proud with each new day

I love you in every single way

Listen to loving voices

Make the right choices

I’m here with you whenever

I will love you forever

Dad, G. Reed
