Painted Desert Morning

-inspired by a morning ride through the painted desert.

Painted desert morning
Colors once dimly imagined
Now appear in vermillion reality

Cloisonné spires reach to heaven
Rotund monoliths balanced above
Multicolored layers reveal ages past

Adobe, ash, yellow, gold and pink
Time compressed in striated magnificence
Buttes and mesas stand watch

Over deep canyons casting shadows
Cathedrals more grand than anything
Built by human hand

All part of the Creator’s sculpture
Displayed in His vast museum
In the land called Arizona

Ingrained with marbled solitude as the Native Americans, my ancestors have painted with the roots of the yucca for a paintbrush, the many strokes of the Total Picture - Creator's Panorama - a gift of everlasting beauty chiseled into the souls who well appreciate what we can reach out and touch - tangible poetry, Butch...Blessed Be.

The Creator's palette is infinite, Butch. How blessed your eyes to have had the opportunity to memorize rhe vision. Even better, that they allow your mind to create the view on your own unique canvas in poetry and photography to share with your eager readers. This has left me with an undeniable sense of fulfillment, serenity, and heightened faith. Thank you for this.
Love,
Taylor

On our last holiday, we passed through this exquisite place, and also, almost next door (so to speak) Monument Valley. These have always been geographies that have mesmerized me with their sublime beauty and sheer audacity.

You have captured the magnificence of this terrain well Butch; like a picture etched in crystal. Well done Poet!

Blessings ...

Oh my friend, you've touched me deeply with this beautiful write this morning. I've never been to Arizona, but have always wanted to. I have plans if the Lord allows me to come and visit this beautiful state, hopefully next summer! Fascinating photo, tranquil and yet makes my mind whirl with questions and curiosity...Your words allowed me to experience a small part of the wonders that I know Arizona has awaiting...very powerful imagery, makes it very enticing. God's creations are amazing indeed! Bravo, an excellent offering my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
