Her heart against mine
Like base drums beating in time
Thunder is rolling

Wings folded behind
Silken shoulders lovely lines
Wrapped in golden tones

Fingertips touch skin
Lightning bolts fly unrestrained
Hot nerves flinch within

Helpless as a child
Like a newborn baby dove
Crying out for love

She wields a power
Unlike any ever found
And I …am spellbound

Ok...where do I begin? Senryu eximius, poet...so incredibly romantic, love soft, yet with a kindled power that only love can explain. I always enjoy your work in short form, Butch, but this one has an interesting rhyming twist...first two verses/first two lines...third/rhyme split between first and third...while the last two verses/last two lines. In my own crazy imagination...it's like the meeting of two lovers between the sheets...or is it the hearts beating when hers is against yours....between the two of you. I love the fact that there is just so much here for the imagination. Heavy sigh. I believe you've left us all a little spellbound.

You always give yourself an opportunity to stretch and challenge yourself with what you already do so very well. You certainly met the challenge...and somone pretty special too boot!

Love,

Tay

A buildup of emotion and imagery so intense, I felt like a voyeur observing the scene. May you be forever spellbound and may the lightning bolts never cease. Outstanding poetry...and you know I like that graphic! :) Lydi**
