Some Time is now needed.

~ I just wanted to let you know,
I will be away for awhile.
Some very strange? things going on?

I had been writing a poem this morning.
I had happened onto a web site that as soon
as I opened the page,
I was struck suddenly by a very intense feelings of anguished pain and sorrow.
The Web Site, was about a subject, a place a time, that I had heard of before, but knew very little about.
The Place, and Time, The People of the Lakota Sioux and
"Wounded Knee"
I could not understand, the sudden overwhelming intensity of emotion. My eyes became overflowed with tears, for no known "reason" they just flowed.

I began writing.

About 45 min, or so had gone by, since I had first happened onto that page..And was hit with that feeling.

And my son came in..A Stricken look upon his face.
I ran outside, and found my Best Friend.
He and I had been together, since I was the age of 24., I am now 44.
He had always been there for me.
He showed me, so many new ways to look at life,
He taught me many valuable lessons about myself.
He was there, when there was no one else.
I have cried on his shoulder, stood face to face , with tears, streaming down my cheeks..And he would stand..Neck arched, so he could reach down to me, and he'd just let me cry..
My Best Friend, My Family, together and apart,
It was as though we knew what each wanted, needed..we spoke with our hearts.
He was all that, and so very, very much more.
And I loved him SO!!
And Always will.

So please forgive my absence.
And I will help what I have been asked..
I hope you don't mind, if you could please wait,
Until I can return..

This Photo was taken, Last Summer.

We walked outside. He is now one with the Wind.
My Best Friend, Teacher, Guardian,
The One that Helped me know, I was never here alone.
The Wind,.. Beneath my Wings..

I know now, that, that sudden "feeling"
Was his heart speaking to mine. He was telling me ,
"Good Bye"
But just for now, .
It was he that had guided me
To that page..
So that I would / Could, recieve,
His Message to me.

The following are the words, I had found on that page..

The Lakota, members of the family of the Great Sioux Nation of North America, have a very rich spirituality and a deep respect for all life, visible and invisible.

Lakota, the Word Means ~
"considered friends" or "alliance of friends".

The Purpose behind Lakota ,

There is a way of living that Native Americans call " to Walk in Beauty ".
It is said that one Walks in Beauty when one has Earth (physicality) and Sky (spirituality) in Harmony.

"Walk in Beauty"..
Rest in Peace. My beloved Friend

Oh the pain runs so deep for you. I know
from having lost my little "Chico" what you
feel lke. He was abut (12) and I was in a
car wreck and it broke his back. And he
could not stand anymore and they told me
they didn't think an operation would do any
good. When I took him to be put down, I
was crying and could not check my
emotions. Oh how I loved him! Just a
little mutt with a big heart. He would
protect me against all odds. This little
15 pound dynamo. I would not leave until I
saw him put painlessly asleep. And then in
agony I walked the short distance back home
bawling like a baby. (The clinic workers
who put him to sleep sent me a sympathy
card becaue they knew what I was feeling at
that time.) If I can feel this love toward
toward my pet, how greater is God's love
for all of us when one of his children fall
to earth and become dust. Your writing
hurts and digs into my guts, and my tears
are not just for you and "Chrimson Gold"
and "Chico" and myself, but for all the
hearts in the world who cry out from
feeling their losses, and hurt like we do
over losing our pets. It is like the anger
and hate in this world is trying to eat us
alive. But someday, somewhere in this
universe, there will be your baby and mine
waiting to greet us when the eternal life
is ours to share with them. Oh many hugs
for your loss. I am sorry! Bill

Hi Jen,
A message of true emotion, and a sad reality with most animals,I have faced many such days in my life, many times I have said never again.
but then a new foal, or puppy, or kitten comes along, not as a replacement of your love, but as an addition.
Really do know how you feel.

Jen you brought me to tears with this one, I think horses are very special, more so than any other animal. there is a bond that develops when riding that is not there with any other situation. We have to make such personal movements so they get to know our touch as we get to know theirs. My heart and prayers go out to you.

i am sorry about the loss of your best friend. he may have been a horse, but a horse is an animal who can be a friend. i know how it is to lose a friend in the animal vein. i lost a cat at age 19 years (she had cancer), and i had to give up my cajun at the age of 4 years (i adopted her from the pound at the age of 8 months), and she was my buddy. i still miss my cajun even today. may chrimson gold be in your heart, and may you never forget him. love, your friend, karen lynn.
