It's a pretty good bet
I'm going to die.
Pretty much happens
to all of us
and excepting a quick
and sudden end
I'm not too sure how
I'll handle the final moment.

Repent all my sins?
Ask for forgiveness?
Beg for one more breath
other than the death rattle?
Or, just smile and let go?

But I have made plans
that rule out cremation
and that is to undo a fella
of whom I'm not too fond.
You know, the ones that always have
a bigger, better one to tell,
just to get in the last word.

He'll no doubt come to my wake
and pay his respects,
lay his hand on my casket,
praise my name
and say I was the best.

That's when I lock my eyes
on his and say, hypocrit,
from which he will have a heart attack
and I will have the last word.

Well, had you repented your sins AFTER you call him the hypocrit, I'd say, you just might of had a chance! Smiles!
Enjoyed!

LOL, let me know how it works out, Rusty-friend! My son-in-law is a funeral director and I've heard some pretty bizarre stories ... but none as outlandish as this one! LOL. Great one, my sweet poet friend. Love your twist at the end, your special 'twisties' are wonderful.

Unless you are a woman...that would be a miracle by itself....lol...not a bad idea though!!

I want to be cremated...making sure stan does not get to me first...and give him the pleasure of making life hot for me!!

I'm wondering...will we truly realize when "the final moment" is happening? Best to record what we want to say now, for playing at that later moment (preferably MUCH later :o)

HaHa...I like your "last word" premise, Rusty

Oh Lord, what a way to go. So you must have your last laugh. In a way you deserve that for you always make us laugh. Great. Victor

That would be justice I suppose, Rusty. You had my attention from start to finish here. Thank you. Love and peace,
