If a poet is fortunate they will get to work with someone they respect as a person and a poet. Guess what? I'm the lucky one. CJ Heck and I have written another poem we hope you will enjoy. I'm sure all of you boys and girls can relate to our Puppy Love poem.

Puppy Love (Children)
CJ Heck & Rusty Daily

I've got a scraped knee
and my ankle hurts bad,
but I guess that I’m happy
and I'm sure I’m not sad.

Bobby Joe pushed me
and called me some names,
then said I couldn't play
in all his fun games.

He told me I’m ugly
and he said girls are dumb
and he gunked up my hair
with his sticky old gum.

But I think he likes me
because his valentine
that he gave me in school
said, “Will you be mine?”.

Mom says boys are silly
when they are in love.
Because they can’t tell us,
they just give us a shove.

My ankle is sore
and my knee, it is hurting,
but my friend Bobby Joe?
That's just his way of flirting …

You're so right. It's a strange way that boys and girls flirt. Hmmm. Does it ever change?

No, Rusty-friend, I'm the lucky one. You are a true professional -- our poems seem to write themselves when you're at the helm. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write with you. You're the best.

Now you two shine in this department... what a wonderful complement you are for each other and I can see how this would work between you. It's amazing when the synergies just correspond. And I really can't discern which energies belong to whom in this well-crafted poem - the whole is seamless. Delightful narrative which is illuminating and sensitive and yet which also gives us an entire character sketch and scenario. So well-balanced - even with the fall! Love this and my warmest congratulations to you both. I hope this will be a partnership that will be repeated... it is gorgeously fruitful! :)) TY K xx
