Borders Books 98’
Waiting for the Muse
Coffee, bagel n’ cheese
Casual magazine.

Feel you within
A coffee percolator
Choosing its flavor
Will I be worthy?

Is my intention pure
Have I prepared myself
Have I released enough
Have I died enough

So much that needs to be said
To help rationalize our persistent genocides
To normalize us to some center
To keep us steady.

The keys are within me
Within you
I drink another coffee
And I quietly pray.

A fascinating insight and finger to the pulse of your thoughts. I especially love the lines 'The keys are within me... Within you' ...and so they are.
I will look forward to reading more of yours

Once again you offer much substance for thinking, Tom. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Sometimes you just grip the Muse by the gossamer hair and tell you do her job.

I think you didn't need much help writing this...love the line 'have I died enough'...
