Although death and loss is sad for us, it is a necessary part of life’s cycle. I believe that it is a time of rest and renewal and reflection as we pass from this realm to the next. We will be joyfully reunited with those who have gone before us.

Family around

My casket abound;

Grief in their hearts.

I cry for them;

They for their loss.

My life is done.

Woe mixed with joy, I'm

Going Home, Going Home.

I leave this earthly plane

And rise above my pain.

There's sunshine on my face;

Momma's at the gate.

Happily she waves

She knows that I am

Coming Home, Coming Home.

My heart can feel no bound.

My eyes fill up with tears.

Apart so many years,

I run to her with glee.

I want to feel her arms

Wrapped around my neck. I'm

Coming Home, Coming Home.

There is always going to be a hole in our heart each time we lose a loved one. However, if we begin to think that the person who is dying or who has died is going "home", this may help us to dry our tears a bit. I lost my father when I was 13 years old, and the hole is always in my heart. But, I knew that he was with God, so it helped a little to know this. I wanted my father to be home with me, but his home is heaven. It was hard to understand at such a young age of 13, but it did comfort me a bit to know and beleive he went "home" to heaven. I love the way you express yourself in your poem! Stop into my den sometime when you have a chance.

If we look towards death as "coming home" it will only comfort the one dying...not the ones left behind. A faithful and loving poem.

I', glad for the expressions in this poem. Sounds like it is like this for all of us. We are all waiting to go home sometime. And to feel and see them again, what a wonderful day that will be. Thanks for this write**********

When we are in different stages in our journey, we see God's unity from different viewpoints.

Those we love and leave behind see us going home.
Those we loved and who are waiting see us coming home.

To know God and to be in God's love makes us complete.
