Why & What For...
Broken In Two
Momma Please Don't Cry (Song)

Terrified by the dreams,
the ones I keep in the solitude
of night, reaching over - you're
not there anymore. Miles divide
the hands of time, ever present
you are here, though you are so very
far away - I miss you.
Casualties of the heart,
promises falling from the lips
of lovers, a touch so missed yet
felt so real, awakening I find your
arm cradled around me, I breathe,
I sleep and back to sleep I dream.
Morning comes and what I thought
I knew is no longer so, a dream within
a dream to keep the sanity in tack,
a nightmare brings forth the comfort
of your arms, the underlying purpose
of sleep, a pretense of awakening only
to believe you are here with me.
Still - the light of day shadows
the truth of my reality - miles divide the hands of time - searching now for those dashing lines - the highway that leads me back to nights of peaceful sleep - where dreams within dreams
become my reality.
