"In truth I am but a wordsmith surrendering my words to you....Kristy Tallman"™

All Over Again..

A teardrop fell from heaven,
a kiss was whispered on the wind,
a gentle embrace was felt
in the chill as a warm ray of sunshine
took the cold away...

it was only for a moment
but that moment lasted a lifetime
for the mother who lost her,
she lay her head down to sleep
with a prayer to see her again,
to a God she was confused with -
to let her walk through her dreams,
but she never came,

once - once she came
but when she came around the corner
of her mother's door and asked her -
"Mom are you really alright?"
instead of facing the truths
that became her life
she forced her away,
breaking out of the dream
because she knew
she would never be able
to answer her truthfully.

A teardrop fell through closed eyes,
she woke up crying, angry at herself
for being unable to hide the pain
that ran so deep inside,
angry at herself for walking away
the one time she walked inside...

A teardrop fell from heaven,
a kiss was whispered on the wind,
a gentle embrace was felt
in the chill as a warm ray of sunshine
took the cold away...

Now she just tucks away the feelings,
she doesn't let the pain show through,
and somedays when she closes her eyes
she sees her dancing in her daytime dreams
but she hasn't returned to the night
because she knows her mother's heart
too frail to fight the pain
the pain in losing her all over again.

A teardrop fell from heaven,
a kiss was whispered on the wind,
a gentle embrace was felt
in the chill as a warm ray of sunshine
took the cold away...

The feeling hit her
like a ton of bricks,
she knew who it was
before the feeling was gone,
she fought back tears
that streamed because her daughter
had come to hold her,
to remind her she's always with her,
but she pushed away the tears
and the fears
of letting her go
all over again.

Kristy, a very emotinal and spiritual work. the very nature of the human spirit is exhibited in your writing. sad, but very real to the senses.

A very well crafted piece, full of love and a longing for the daughter she lost. Very vivid well painted picture with your words...

Wow, that brought chills down my spine. That was such a beautiful, descriptive poem that anyone who has lost a child can relate too.
Thank you for sharing this.
