A Song - My Blues - To My Angel
|
A mystery unravels in the corners of my mind,
a voice whispers but baby - it's not mine.
I sit back in my favorite chair,
twirling the edges of my hair,
feelin' the teardrops gently fall
knowing that this feeling too
will return tomorrow.
A sweet blues tune echoes
against the barren walls
of a house that doesn't know joy -
no joy -
since you've been gone.
Questions arise
from so deep down inside
and a voice softly whispers -
but baby - baby - that voice ain't mine.
I close my eyes feeling the pain
I'm meant to feel, knowing -
knowing it's so very real --
too real to run from -
there's no place to hide
so here in my darkness -
in the corners of my mind -
a voice whispers and baby I cry -
cry like the mother I truly am -
feeling the pain of losing you -
losing you all over again.
Too my lips I raise a bottle of wine -
hoping to drink away the hands of time -
remembering days - days gone by
and a voice softly whispers -
a voice that ain't mine
tellin me -
Momma -- Momma -
Please don't cry.
