EL INMIGRANTE ACABA LA JORNADA

Una suma módica
llevada en silencio
a estómago vacío
por las noches.

Una vaga armonía
de cuatro pilares
endebles
como lo sentido:

La mano, el café,
el cigarro que alienta
equilibrio
de perfiles huecos
en las sombras.

Y lo Cósmico al sesgo:
Colándose por las brechas
de las que apartamos los ojos
en hábito taciturno
día por día.

THE INMIGRANT FINISHES THE WORKDAY

A moderate sum
carried in silence
with an empty stomach
through the nights.

A vague harmony
of four pillars
flimsy
like what is felt:

the hand, the coffee,
the cigarette that encourages
equilibrium
of hollow profiles
in the shadows.

And the Cosmic obliquely:
Passing off through the gaps
from which we withdraw the eyes
in taciturn habit
day by day.
