I wrote this for Tony, who at the time was my fiance. We read the words together at our wedding - back in 1985. We're still married.
It seems a little corny now, but it brought tears to people's eyes back at the wedding. |

If you are the music, then I am the words without you I lack beauty and harmony.
If you are the words, then I am the music without you I lack meaning.
If you are the sunset, then I am the clouds without you I lack colour.
If you are the clouds, then I am the sunset without you my colours escape all eyes.
If you are the waves, then I am the ocean without you I lack direction.
If you are the ocean, then I am the waves without you I am not !

| That ain't corn, it's true love. And, if you insist that it's corn, at least its sweet corn. Looks a little like Paul McCartney, don't you think? From this standpoint, that's good, even if it's corny. Hey, I liked it, Terry. You got me to playing with it, and usually that's good--beautiful, just like the others said in better ways than me....Jerry |

No way is this corny Terry...it's beautiful. What could be more special than a gift of words from the heart. In my opinion, there is something extra special in the love of a poet.

| A gorgeous poem, Terry, I can see why it made people cry. How wonderful that the words are still true more than twenty years after you wrote them. A testimony to the fact that marriage can survive in this day and age. (And I might add, your Tony is a most handsome fellow!) |

As much as you think it is corny now, I find it to be heart warming and filled with love. The imagery is a prism, full of color and light. What you two shared in 1985 seems to still be alive in 2007.

| Very nice. You two are lucky to have found each other. True soulmates, judging by these words. |
