In realms of lost abandonment
Where life no longer has my scent
I turn to farce and fantasy
So truth won't get the best of me
I dream our life in days of one
Though our love is long undone
But only in the one that left
My heart a victim of his theft
Yet there are no tears of regret
For what I felt cannot be met
There is no other can compare
So in my dreams he'll always share
Though I bid happiness farewell
I find contentment in my shell

Eileen,

I concur with Jerry. As one who has spent too much time in my shell, nursing past regrets and loves, I have rejoined the world and am ready to fly. :) Powerfully expressed emotion--you're in my thoughts and prayers. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

There's no harm in remaining in our shell and licking our wounds Eileen!
As Jerry wisely says below, we can regroup in strength and experience, and be ready to commence battle with the world again !
The cocoon picture sums it up nicely !
Love it !

:( I think we all can relate to this one Eileen. I completely agree with Jerry there, lost battles only serve to make us stronger and more determined. HUGS

Bittersweet write that I'm sure more than a few can relate too.
Reviewed by Jerry Bolton (Reader) 2/18/2006
There is contentment, for sure, within our bruised ego if we dwell there for awhile, then, after our soulful inspection, joint the world again, ready for the battle to begin anew.
