There are those who sing  the
most lovely melody ever heard
uplifting tones that make one rise
above the platitudes of earth and
touch the skies...

They live in a different dimension
yet still of earth, but not all know
they have had a different birth, it
has evolved otherwise...

What this means is beyond our ken
we can only watch in wonder when
they do things extraordinary and
make us amazed...

sometimes we are privileged to know
someone of this stature, but they are
so unlike us we can't decide whether
they are sane or crazed...

Some one I know is both I'm sure
I can only stand in awe and adore
for whatever is done by such a one
is more splendid by far than any
average person....

God gifts some with the voice of an angel, others with a gift to write about it. I'm glad you're in the second group, Eileen. Hugs,

TRULY, IT IS A 'MINISTRY' TO POSSESS THE GIFT OF BEING ABLE TO 'TOUCH' OTHERS BY SINGING. THERE ARE SO MANY TIMES WHEN A SONG HAS BEEN KNOWN TO LIFT A PERSON FROM A DEEP STATE OF DEPRESSION...ENCOURAGING THEM TO 'KEEP THE FAITH'...THEIR SINING CAN CARRY A LISTENER TO ANOTHER DIMENSION. NOW, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE FROM ANOTHER DIMENSON BUT INDEED THE GIVER OF THE GIFT IS FROM HEAVEN ABOVE AND HE USES ORDINARY PEOPLE...TO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS. SO TO ME, IT IS NOT THE SINGER THAT IS TO BE HELD IN REVERENCE BUT THE ONE WHO ENFUSES THE SINGER THAT IS TO BE REVERENCED. I LOVE THIS TRIBUTE TO SINGERS. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. My daughter is one who sings with heavenly chords...I miss hearing her words of light in song when she is not here. She truly carries the listener to another dimension.

I know from where you speak. It is amazing when a gifted person can singularily put a special "twist" on something, annthing just because of their gift. It leaves me in awe. You have an amazing insight.

God bless you. Kathy

To each their own gift
Different places they lift
What they give
Is shown in how they live.

Great poem and title, Eileen

Eileen,
What generosity of mind and heart! Wilde said (and I'm paraphrasing) anyone can sympathise with a friend's loss but it takes a very fine nature to celebrate his or her success...and you celebrate.
Yes!

Eileen, I believe it's possible that we have all met one of these souls, even though unaware of their position. Nicely written.

Average is a state of mind, but then it is supposed to be. If you have talent above the average in whatever field you are in their are those who suspect you are in league with demonic powers you are so out of this world. I hear you loud and clear, Eileen, I have known them . . .

It is a sacred privilege to be among those who even notice.
And interesting how some of "those few" don't even know what wonder they bring.
Very touching, and close to home.

Eileen, I feel the vibrations from this write, I know who you refer to here, I agree with you. Some people are just chosen and that is all there is to it. I love this poem, and all of it's trimmings. You write truth, love and lightness,
Always, blessed be!
