Touching the heavens
The California Redwood
Godly sentinels

Magnolia blossoms
Adorning earth in beauty
Tree the proud parent

The Silver Maple
Of intricate lacy leaves
Graces the landscape

Flaming Red Maple
Autumns glorious herald
Delights the senses

The worlds sentinels
Producers of oxygen

I love the use of 'sentinels' in the last one, Eileen. The other night, I was driving down the snow-covered highway, thinking the same word about the trees. Great visuals. Hugs,

I had no idea that CA is mainly surrounded by rugged nature until a TV program the other night. From the ocean to the San Andrea's fault, the forest of trees that have to burn to release the next generation of giant trees.
Nice write Tiggs, and there seems to be a whole, never ending place for poetry about such a diverse area on this planet.

With what the adverts all make out, feels like CA is tame, Nope, it does seem that nature can be seen at its most amazing and powerful glory.

Besides all that, Eileen, is the fact that except maybe for love the tree is probably the most written about in verse, and that is as it should be. they are our friends.

With out trees, we don't breath, being an air sign, I appreciate that, ha, anyway tis a lovely poem, but I thought if you love trees, go see AVATAR, trees from out of this world, one more beautiful than the other, and you can sit right in them with your 3D's on.
Hugs! Jasmin Horst
