Everyone goes through it, those chats with your Mother or Father as they tell you stories of when you were a child, reminiscing back through the years, correcting them all the way, until they make you realize just what it was they saw and knew as your parents. Ah,but they remember it well.

Ah, But I Remember It Well

Dear child, I remember you were born
on Nov the 25th. a sunny day,
No the 26th. dear Mother, it was stormy,
Ah, but I remember it well.

You had the straightest brownest hair,
It was black and curly dear Mother,
Ah, but I remember it well.

That first day of school, how you cried,
You were home sick, Mother,
Ah, but I remember it well.

And when you gratuated from university,
I was the one who yelled the loudest,
I gratuded from high school and married,
Ah, but I remember it well.

You see child, I gave birth on the 25th.
Once they had you prepared, it was the 26th.
And it was one of the brightest days of my life,
Ah, but I remember it well.

Your hair was black and curly,
But I knew it would be brown and straight,
Look at you today my child,
Ah, but I remember it well.

Your first day of school, I was sick,
But I felt tears in your heart,
And as you cried inside, I cried outside,
Ah, but I remember it well.

I was there when you gratuated, high school,
But I knew you would be the best,
Doctor, Educator, Counsellor, and Mother,
A family could ever want or need.
Ah, but I remember it well

So you see dear child a Mother knows ,
As she looks in her child's face, what's there,
A Mother feels in her heart, and is proud,
Ah, but I remember it, all so well.

Stunning capture of a mother's love, yes we do tend to think as people age they are forgerful but mother's never forget their children and each one holds special places in their hearts.
